The Beauty Chef GLOW Inner Beauty Powder REVIEW

Nutraceutical powders have been all the rage lately and the appeal is evident: through the premise of delivering beauty from within, these powders achieve specialized holistic benefits through the use of concentrated superfoods that work like vitamins. The Beauty Chef, by Carla Oates, is an Australian line that is one of the pioneers of this movement and her Glow Inner Beauty Powder is widely regarded as the line’s hallmark product.

Our team has been trying the inner beauty powder ever since multiple contributors attested to it’s performance (see Beauty Idealist’s Favorite Products of 2016 and Edo Jao’s Morning Tonic) and have fallen in love with it as well.

The powder is made from fermented superfoods that provide more vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and probiotics than the standard powders out there. The fermentation process increases the absorption of the nutrients: “When we eat conventional food, we digest between 12 to 25 percent of it, when fermented, we digest up to 85 percent of it,” Carla explains. The GLOW aspect is achieved two ways: firstly through promoting optimal gut health with the probiotics and then through nutrients from certified organic superfoods such as red micro-algae and garnet plum that support collagen development, regulate skin function, and promote healing.

There are many ways to add the powder, we mix a spoonful in warm water and add it into post-workout shakes but it can also added to yoghurt and cereal/oatmeal bowls. The yellow-greenish powder turns into a purple color when mixed with liquids, most likely due to the antioxidant-rich berry content.

Unlike many juices and health supplements, taking Glow Inner Beauty Powder doesn’t feel like a chore because it actually tastes good as a result of the natural berry flavoring and stevia extract (a natural sweetener). And that’s important because what’s the point of buying a super-healthy beauty drink, if you’re not going to actually consume it?

I can’t say that I’ve noticed anyone on our team look preternaturally glowing, but we do slather ourselves in serums and consume health boosting tonics as part of the job so it might not be as apparent. I appreciate that The Beauty Chef’s Glow Inner Beauty Powder addresses gut health which is one area that is difficult to manage for those with dietary restrictions (i.e. no yoghurt due to dairy). Holistically, it is great for mitigating many internal factors that can cause acne, dullness and general irritability by supporting the connected digestive system and supplementing nutrients to make up for any dietary imbalances. Glow Inner Beauty Powder is an excellent product that provides a diverse mix of nutrients in a pleasing package that is convenient to take on travels, most importantly it tastes great and will make you actually look forward to drinking your health tonic.
