Last year, we created a shopping guide to CREDO’s (a.k.a. the organic Sephora) annual Friends & Family event. While last years picks still hold up (in our humble opinion), we’ve scoped out some of 2018 most noteworthy releases that are definitely worth picking up during this once-a-year sale event (going on from November 1st-4th).
Here are some GW team favorites you can stock up on during this event

GOOP Exfoliating Instant Facial
Regardless of your personal feelings about G.P., GOOP products are well made and the packaging is modern and clean, a draw on any top shelf. The challenge with newer lines is figuring out where to start. Every line has somewhat of an official “hero” product, and the Exfoliating Instant Facial is GOOPs. It’s mentioned at length in nearly every beauty feature, and interview that Gwyneth Paltrow gives from podcasts to Youtube videos. The product is an acid-based exfoliating mask (lactic acid, glycolic acid, malic acid, tartaric acid, salicylic acid) plus plant-derived cellulose beads that actually help to slough off the dead skin cells.
Your skin may feel some tingles at first, which let you know the product is working, and for those who don’t regularly exfoliate, you’ll definitely see dead skin cells flake off with the first few uses – and that’s a good thing! It leaves the skin looking refreshed, softer, more even toned, brighter and smoother.
If you’re looking for a great entry product into the GOOP range that is functional and highly acclaimed (18/20 reviewers on CREDO gave this 5 stars), the Exfoliating Instant Facial is our pick.

Kristina Holey + Marie Veronique Barrier Lipid Complex
The skin barrier has come into the forefront of skin health this year, and we have Kristina Holey + Marie Veronique to thank for that. Kristina Holey is the skincare specialist who developed the in-house facials at CAP Beauty, and she teamed up with the clean line, Marie Veronique to introduce a 7-product collection that is focused on barrier function.
Central to the collection are the 3 serums which were launched first. Such is their importance to the skin barrier. If you get any serum, it should be the Barrier Lipid Complex which is pretty much the titular product of the series. The skin barrier comprises of lipids and this serum balances and restores it so that the overall skin function is improved. This isn’t any old face oil, the first ingredients are cholesterol, lacto-ceramides and phytosphingosine. You know it’s serious business. These ingredients lubricate surface layers, restore and rebuild lipid integrity and plump skin.
If there is any singular product that encapsulates the deliverables of the Kristina Holey + Marie Veronique collaboration, we’d say it’s the Barrier Lipid Complex and that’s why it should be your go to.

The Nue Co Debloat Food + Probiotic
Nutraceuticals have gone from being an emerging category into a full-fledged market and in 2018, no newcomer has been more interesting than The Nue Co. This highly curated, sophisticated and rather playful line creates straightforward and purposeful supplements and in a sea of products that promise resplendent health in the vaguest of terms, The Nue Co’s Debloat Food + Probiotic offers a very direct and unique approach.
Gut health, more than ever has been linked to overall health (there was a study published just this week that found a link between the appendix and Parkinson’s), and as we age, our digestive system loses efficiency and it’s ability to break down and absorb nutrients wanes, leaving many to feel bloating and digestive unease especially after dinner.
We’ve all had nights where it felt like we over-indulged or the food just isn’t moving through as quickly as it used to, which can create bloating, gas, acid reflux and other discomforts that can even impact sleep quality. This is the perfect supplement to tackle all of that, think of it as a spoonful of comfort with anti-inflammatory and digestion triggering turmeric, ginger, and cinnamon along with prebiotics that stabilize blood sugar level and help with overall gut health.

KJAER WEIS The Beautiful Oil
Kjaer Weis is undeniably luxurious and the stainless steel packaging screams for top-shelf placement, but as with all good things – there’s a steep price tag. That’s why you grab Kjaer Weis during 20% off sales
Although most well known for makeup, we’ve been curious about their new skincare offerings. We love Kjaer Weis’ The Beautiful Oil which comes in a gigantic 2.5 oz glass bottle with stainless steel closures that really shows off the oil inside. One of the key ingredients is literally called “the root of light” which gives this oil vitality restoring powers. This oil’s base is the powerfully rejuvenating rosehip oil, and we love the very light, subtle scent. We know – face oils are a dime a dozen, but the moment The Beautiful Oil came out, it was clear that Kjaer Weis had something special.

PHLUR Hanami Eau de Parfum
Clean fragrances have made good progress in the past year. A past gripe was that clean perfumes tended to smell like Whole Foods aromatherapy blends, which lacked a certain sophistication. PHLUR is a line of unisex (perfect for gifting!) fragrances that are free of phthalates, and synthetic musks commonly found in the fragrance industry.
What makes their products stand out is the sophistication and profile of scents that smell more Byredo than crunchy organic fragrance. Take Hanami, an aquatic and floral scent with top notes of fig and bergamot underscored by sandalwood and musk, which immediately draw references to Byredo’s Bal D’Afrique, yet with clean ingredients, doesn’t carry any of the cloying, heady synthetic scents that overstay their welcome.
Phlur ushers in a new standard for clean fragrances and at a very reasonable price point ($88) – prediscount, there is no reason to sit this one out.
